The club maintains a teaching hive in Kirkwood, NY. This hive is an integral part of our Summer Field Meetings. New beekeepers are invited to don a veil and get their first hands-on experience. Skills such as the basics of hive inspection, queen identification, and brood pattern evaluation are all taught best in the field! When conditions allow, we split the hive and offer the surplus hive for auction during our fall fundraising event. Hive products are will be shared at our first annual honey swap in November. Interested in joining the fun? Membership in STBA is $10/year, print out and mail our membership form. ____________________________________ Club Hive Data Data sheet for club hive weights and hive condition updates. ___________________________________________________________ On-Line Resources Bait Hives for Honey Bees by Thomas D.
